Review: Sebulba’s Podracer & Tatooine (#9675)

I wasn’t originally going to review all 3 Planet sets, but we built Sebulba‘s Pordracer and Tatooine last night, and it was such a poor experience, I thought I would share.

To provide some context, Sam is a fairly advanced builder for 5. She has been using a brick separator for a year. She had no problems working through most of the LEGO MBA sets. She builds freeform all the time and has some very clever builds.

Unfortunately, this build really stumped her.

Co-build rating: 2/5
In some ways, this set actually needs a lot of co-building. As I said, Sam took on the podracer and really was confused. She didn’t get the small details, which may have hampered her progress. Similar to the Naboo Starfighter & Naboo set, there is not a whole lot more to this set.

Overall rating: 3/5

It’s a great model when done. It looks a lot better than some of the older podracers. It looks particularly good next to the new Anakin’s Pod Racer (#30057) poly bag set.  I like the Sebulba figure, if you didn’t get the big podracer set last year, this is a cheap way to get him. It’s a neat set overall – I just think all the tiny pieces might be hard for a younger builder.
